5 Tips on how to care for your lawn in the fall

Fall is quickly approaching and it’s time to start thinking about what you need to do for your lawn. Fall is a great time of year to take care of your lawn because there are fewer insects. One thing that you can do this fall as part of the fall lawn maintenance, fertilize your yard with nitrogen fertilizer. This will help keep your grass healthy and green through the winter months and next spring when the weeding season begins again!

5 Tips on how to care for your lawn in the fall:

  1. Mow your lawn at the right height for fall
  2. Check for and remove any weeds that have popped up in the past few weeks
  3. Apply a pre-emergent weed control to keep weeds from coming back next year
  4. Fertilize your lawn according to package instructions, or hire someone who knows what they’re doing
  5. Water your lawn every day if it’s hot out, but cut back on watering if it’s cold outside so you don’t accidentally freeze plants.

Some of these tips may be new to you or you may have a set of your own that is tried and true. Whatever the case may be, we just want you to prep your lawn before winter arrives.
